WHO AM I ?

This project alternates between two universe, the reality and multiples fantastic stories.

​I decided to create two different musical universes too.​

-For the reality, I chose a very intimistic atmosphere by using a kalimba, guitar, prepared piano, and synths.
To create something tangible, I used instruments that I can record in my bedroom.​

-For the stories I decided to use an orchestra.
I arranged strings, woods, percs, synths, marimba, harp, etc.​

You can find nods to previous stories in every soundtrack.
For example in "In trouble" the marimba calls back to the leitmotiv of the "Bokukus", the mean little characters in "The ambush".

Other example, in "Swarmed up" you can hear a tabla as well as a marimba, an echo of the two previous stories.​

As the story goes, the peaceful and warm atmosphere becomes cold and more dramatic until the climax.

The movie finishes with "Final embrace", it pushes all the sadness away and the story ends well, on a hopeful note.

At the beggining of the movie the objective was to create a very cold atmosphere.
For this, one of the violin sections playes ponticello, which produces a harsh and shrill sound, another violin section plays tremollo.
I decided to use a hammered dulcimer to play a percussive and tense melody and reinforce the icy atmosphere.

The orchestra is composed of : violins , violas, celli, double basses, hammered dulcimer and a choral

My main inspiration for this music is the soundtrack of the movie "Midsommar" composed by Bobby Krlic.​

This short film was directed by Maya Kanoe​

The first music was composed before our colaboration with Maya, right after reading the pitch.

It corresponded directly to the scene and didn't change much from the first version, just some changes to match the action.​

The second music is very peaceful and nostalgic. The character realises his importance to other people.

For this short I did a mix between acoustic instruments and synthesizers.

I use a synthetizer named FB-3300, some other synths, a piano, a hang drum, a recorder flute, a clarinet and a glass with reverb.

This a re-score of a short movie, Sprite Fright

On the occasion of the scorerelief2022 music composition contest.

This is a special edit, so the pace of the action is very fast and the mood changes very abruptly, but it was very interesting to work on this kind of cut.

I decided to use only wood instruments to match with the envionment. Such as basson, oboe, strings, marimba, and drums at the end

These musics were composed for a short documentary made by Aurore Vigneron from the school "Gobelins, l'école de l'image"

This documentary is divided into two parts :

- The first part, the discovery of the virus and the expositions of the ecological facts. I decided to offer something very intense to support the heavy message and the fears about the subject.

Here the orchestra is composed of : piano, violins, violas, celli, double basses and a oboe.

- The second part is the explanation of the power of the virus and it's importance. So I proposed a music with more hope and more lightness.

For this part the orchrestra is composed of : violins, violas, celli, double basses, shakers, glass of water, oboe, and a flute
